“Will Marry for Visa” is a protest and creative stunt to shine a light on the broken UK immigration system, especially how it affects skilled creatives and immigrants. Outside the London Parliament, I held a sign to make a point that for many immigrants, marriage has become one of the few viable options to stay in the UK. Despite being qualified, experienced, and working in London’s advertising industry, the rising salary thresholds and lack of sponsorship opportunities have made it nearly impossible to stay. This project was designed to provoke, challenge, and start a conversation about a system that often overlooks talent in favour of bureaucracy and hopes to spark a much needed change, with 2.3K likes and nearlt 100 reposts on linkedin, the numbers are still rising.
